Letters from Lisa January 2025

It’s 2025! Can you believe it?

And. . .my first ever newsletter! We are embarking on a new journey together, friends! So thank you for traveling along with me. 🙂

2024 was awesome! I published my debut novel, Eden (which you probably already know because you are on this reader list), it was a best-seller on Amazon in multiple categories for several weeks (crazy, right?), David (famous composer husband) created a beautiful song for the book, also called Eden (how romantic 😍), and I’ve been able to do some super fun author events at bookstores, book clubs, and libraries!

So what’s next you ask? (drum roll please. . .)

THE SEQUEL!

YEP, I’M WRITING IT RIGHT NOW!

What’s the title?

Echoes of Eden (cool, right?)

How far along is it? 75 pages in, baby!

When will it be published? Good question. 😉 I will be sure to give updates in this newsletter.

What would you like to see in the sequel?

I’m very excited for Kaya and Drew’s continued adventure and romance in this next book. New character sketches, research, outlines, and chapter summaries have all been written in cute notebooks and now the story is coming to life! Stay tuned for teasers and early content for you special people!

Lots of love,

Lisa

Teaser for Echoes of Eden...

Here is some food for thought: Kaya is back on the island now and we know she is about to give her first speech as queen! How will islanders react to this? Is everyone ready for the changes she has in store? Drew is there now too! How is that gonna work? What will his first experience in this very foreign place be like? Hmmmmmmm. . .

Eden Quote of the Month:

"The seascape was a beautiful, new canvas. The setting sun cast golden shimmers on the tops of waves while distant seagulls flew as shadows against a purple horizon. The time of day and the beauty it produced offered the hope of perfect endings. If life could imitate this time of day, when twilight fell and peace and calm covered the sandy shore, then perhaps Kaya could find the beauty in her life before a waiting sunrise." —Page 183

What I'm Reading:

The Housemaid, by Freida McFadden (Thriller) Very gripping so far—this author is great at raising the stakes and building tension.

Tress of The Emerald Sea, by Brandon Sanderson (Young Adult Fantasy) He is the master of imagination, this man called Brandon. An ocean of spores. . . need I say more?

Just finished: A Lady's Guide to Fortune Hunting, by Sophie Irwin (Regency Romance) Delightful book—this new author is a fun writer and I enjoyed her witty humor and authentic British quips!

About to start: The Love Elixir of Augusta Stern, by Lynda Cohen Loigman (Historical fiction romance)
